Thanks to everyone who came out for the tour and the CD release party in Philly! for those of you who couldn't attend b/c of the age issue or whatever the case...fear not.

We have been asked to play a special show at Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center this Saturday June 21st. This is pretty rediculous, and anyone who has ever been to the Kimmel Center knows what we are talking about.

We will also be appearing on the NBC 10! show on Friday June 20th and at Gathering of the Vibes in Bridgeport, CT on August 1st.

|5.4| R.I.P. Josh Sack 1986-2008

With profound sorrow and regret, we're sorry to have to tell you that on Sunday, May 4, The Brakes' drummer Josh Sack lost his battle with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). Diagnosed last August, Josh bravely fought the cancer, even regaining his strength long enough to tour in October and drum at rehearsals as recently as last week. Funeral services will be held at
Joseph Levine & Sons in Broomall, PA at 11:30, Tuesday, May 6. http://www.levinefuneral.com

This July, The Brakes & Tom Hamilton's American Babies will embark on a two week trek across the Northeast. Performing in clubs from Burlington to Baltimore, this tour boasts two bands with top class musicianship and compelling songwriting. American Babies features Joe Russo (Benevento/Russo Duo) on drums and Scott Metzger (RANA, Particle) on Guitars. Also sharing the bill for selected nights will be NYC's Krystle Warren & The Faculty, Brooklyn's Pete & J and Philadelphia's John Francis.

|8.10| Just annouced, The Brakes will be playing a FREE show at Colgate University, in Hamilton, NY on August 30th. In addition, the band will be going back in the studio at the end of August to start work on their first full length release! Keep checking for updates and pictures from the studio.

|7.25| It's great to be back home! After two great local shows at WXPN Festival and Eagleview, The Brakes are announcing their addition to the Philadelphia Weekly's Concerts in the Park Series. The band will be playing a FREE show in Rittenhouse Square Park on Wednesday September 6th at 7pm. Joining them will be friend, Krystle Warren.

|7.17| The band is back from the 2nd leg of their Summer Tour. Fresh off of a breakout performance at All Good Festival, there are some big announcements to be made! Firstly, The Brakes will be playing 4 dates in direct support of Live. The Shows will be July 27th at Soverign Performing Arts Center in Reading, PA July 28th at Wildwood Convention Center, July 29th at a venue TBA and July 30th at Hampton Beach Casino in NH! Also The band will be supporting Willie Nelson & John Fogerty at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA on August 4th. And lastly, The band will be supporting Dave Matthews Band and O.A.R. for two nights in August; the 18th at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, TX and the 19th at the Smirnoff Centre in Dallas! |7.7| High Sierra was an amazing time! Highlights include, Zach and Adam sitting in with the Everyone Orchestra & New Mastersounds, Matt with Tea Leaf Green and both Vaudville Tent & Late Night Sets! The west coast has been great to the band and as they make their way back, two last minute shows are being announced. This Friday The Brakes support Particle/Ozric Tentacles at the Ogden Theatre in Denver, CO and Saturday they support Grace Potter & The Nocturnals/Steel Train at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO.

|6.6| Greetings from the Midwest! The Brakes are almost done their first Midwestern tour, and have had great success! Highlights include Al from Moe. sitting in on Traffic's "Empty Pages" at Summercamp, the FOX morning show in Cleveland among others. Look for tour photos in the next coming weeks! In addition, there are a few last minute tour updates. The band will be playing 2 consecutive dates with friends Tea Leaf Green, on June 7th & 8th as well as Crazy Carls in Schwenksville on June 16th!

|3.31| For the past 2 months, The Brakes have been in the recording studio laying down new material for upcoming release. They have been working with Engineer Adam Winokur (EP Vol. 1), Mixing Al Schnier (Moe.) and Mixing/Mastering Phil Nicolo (Billy Joel, Santana, John Lennon). Four of these tracks are ready for release and rather than an EP release, and the band has decided to release these songs on the internet, for no charge. The tracks will be released one at a time via brakesband.com & myspace.com and will be available for download and stream starting APRIL 8th!

With a short stop in Baltimore at the 8x10 (formerly The Funkbox) supporting friends, Tea Leaf Green, The Brakes make their way south to Austin, TX for the worlds largest music conference. Their showcase is Friday March 17th, St. Patty's Day at Opal Devine's Freehouse, with Relix Records sponsoring the event, other acts include John Popper Project, Drums & Tuba and The Jonah Smith Band! The Brakes narrowly escaped the winter storm that covered the east coast last night, and are safely back in Philly to return to the studio, but are returning to Boston Feb. 20th at The Paradise Lounge for a headlining show.
